Hello,
I'm Louise Presley an artist, qualifed adult tutor and professional treasure hunter. I have a large studio with an equally large collection of delights contained within it. My background is in fashion and commercial textiles and in 2003 I decided to follow my own star and set up Hope & Elvis. Since then I have been making, exhibiting and suporting the novice to the professional to develop their skills and creative confidance ..and yes it's a lovely life!
Workshops
From the private and tranquil Harely Foundation studio's situated in the beautiful grounds of Welbeck Abbey, North Nottinghamshire I run a full programme of day and weekend textile workshops. I also have some of most well known artists and contemporary makers in the craft world leading workshops on a regular basis, but you have to be on the mailing list as the days get booked up in blink.
Sponsored by BROTHER Sewing UK the workshops are "fully inclusive" of materials and equipment, no need to lug anything just bring yourself and delve into the old suitcases, hat boxes and button tins filled to the brim for you to rummage through.
As an experienced fashion and textile designer I have heaps of ideas, samples and patterns on hand. Everyone is welcome, gentle help and enthusiasm overcomes any sewing stress. Take a chance to be creative in a relaxed atmosphere with the luxury of dedicated time for yourself, space to work freely in, unlimited materials, ideas and inspiration.
Private Events
The studio is lovely place to spend a day with family and friends and is available for private parties for 7 -20 people all arranged to your specification. Special birthdays, hen parties or corporate days all catered for £40 per
person inclusive of all materials and equipment
