This series of 3hr workshops will focus on the core drawing skills of proportion, foreshortening and structure using the human form as its subject.
The sessions will help new students to develop an observed approach to optical colour mixing using oil pastels, as well as extending the more experienced student's use of colour .
Julian is a commercial painter and has coordinated an art foundation course for 20 years on which he taught life drawing and illustration which allowed students to develop a portfolio for progression onto their chosen degree course at university.
He uses his drawing skills daily in his painting commissions and believes them to be fundamental to all aspects of creative work. His sessions will introduce students to the rudiments of observational drawing as taught in art schools including structure, tone and line and will help beginners and the more experienced to develop their skills.
